The second extra session on February 11, 2026, Episode 2 of the ETN EdTech Exchange, focused on device acquisition and maintenance tips—practical advice for schools and teachers to make EdTech sustainable. Building on the launch, this Wednesday session (5:30–6:30 PM) addressed a key barrier: getting and keeping devices running in resource-limited settings.
- Acquisition: Budget-friendly options (refurbished laptops, Android tablets, Raspberry Pi), funding sources (Airtel/UNICEF partnerships, MoES grants, donor programs).
- Maintenance: Basic troubleshooting (software updates, virus protection, hardware care), low-cost repairs, device sharing strategies.
- Tips: Prioritize offline-capable devices (for Kolibri), energy-efficient models (solar chargers for rural areas), security (passwords, safe use policies).
Participants shared experiences, with facilitators offering guidance on aligning with school strategic plans from Extra 1.
This episode ensured EdTech isn’t just theory—it’s implementable.
