Launch of the ETN EdTech Exchange: Progress Sharing, Weekly Learning, and School EdTech Strategic Plan

The first extra session on February 4, 2026, was a bridge between core training and long-term support: the launch of the ETN EdTech Exchange. This weekly Wednesday platform (5:30โ€“6:30 PM) keeps educators connected, sharing tech integration experiences. Before the launch, participants showcased Day 1/2 progress, with live troubleshooting.

Progress Sharing: Real Demos and Guidance

  • Kakuru: Website with campus tour video, contact form, resources; Rogers guided on linking/publishing/blog setup.
  • Masty: Kolibri activity with questions/account; Rogers helped publish channel, get token, complete settings.
  • Lubega: Site with homepage/about/contact/ICT resources; Rogers demoed Blogger for blog creation.
  • Kakuru question: Embedding 3D simulations Rogers suggested PhET OERs from Kolibri Library.

This hour built confidence through peer learning.

ETN EdTech Exchange Launch: Ongoing Community

Rogers explained ETN’s mission: empower educators for digital innovation. Structure:

  • Weekly Zoom on topics like digital skills, pedagogy, leadership.
  • Membership: Free at edutechteachers.org/join; access resources, groups, Kolibri libraries.
  • Regional coordinators Hanifah and Emmanuel Angoda shared workshop stories, stressing participation.

The Exchange extends training turning skills into habits.

Developing a School EdTech Strategic Plan

Aligned with MoES Digital Agenda, the 4-phase sample plan (editable template shared):

  1. Vision & Needs Assessment: Define goals, audit infrastructure/skills/access.
  2. Capacity Building & Infrastructure: Train staff, secure devices/power/internet, set policies (safe use, ethics).
  3. Integration & Expansion: Embed ICT in lessons/clubs, pilot projects.
  4. Sustainability & Innovation: Monitor KPIs (lesson ICT %, engagement), innovate with AI/emerging tools, fundraise.

Monitoring throughout: Stakeholder engagement, regular reviews.

Adapt for your school start small, involve all.

This session inspired beyond training join the Exchange for continued growth.
